Tax Return Amnesty – Act before 2 October!

Higher rate taxpayers who have previously failed to submit tax returns for 2009/10 or earlier years can benefit from HMRC’s Tax Return Initiative but only until 2 October.

You must alert HMRC by this date if you wish to take part in this amnesty campaign that offers lower penalty rates for those who opt to come forward voluntarily. 

The outstanding tax returns must be filed and all tax and NIC must be paid to HMRC by this date and the authorities have indicated that defaulting taxpayers will be pursued and could face penalties of up to 100% of the tax due.
